How to set up a Yammer Live Broadcast – a step-by-step guide.
Open the Calendar
Creating a meeting with AI Producer in Teams is just like scheduling a regular meeting.
Create a new meeting
Add a title and meeting attendees who will participate in the broadcast. If you create a broadcast by yourself, add your own email address as an attendee. Select the date and time for the broadcast. Close the new meeting window by clicking ‘Send.’

Re-open the window to the meeting you just created to edit it.

At the top of the meeting window, select the plus (+) symbol to add an app to the meeting.

Invite the AI Producer app by clicking ‘Add.’

Click ‘Save’ to invite AI Producer to the meeting.
Select a Production Format
Now it is time to choose the Production settings.
Select your preferred preset Production format.
- Select the attendees that will participate as a Presenter
- Assign attendees as Producer or Participant
- Edit name and title of each Presenter
- Drag and drop Presenters to rearrange their position in the Broadcast
Presenters will be displayed in the broadcast and are attendees of the AI Producer meeting that are selected as Presenters in AI Producer settings. The position of how the Presenters shall be displayed in the broadcast can be changed using drag and drop. The Name and Title of each selected Presenter can be edited within AI Producer settings. The Name and Title will be displayed in the broadcast.
AI Producer meeting attendees can be assigned different roles. The organizer of the meeting is always the Producer and has control of all features during the broadcast. The Producer can also assign roles to meeting attendees, and choose if they will actively participate and be shown in the broadcast by assigning roles as Producer, Presenter and Participant.
A Producer has access and control of all features and settings in the Control Room during the broadcast. The producer can:
• Assign roles in the broadcast,
• Change titles of the presenters,
• Start and stop a break and send messages to participants and viewers,
• Change the Production Format and Tempo,
• Edit the position of the placement of the presenters,
• Change the background and logo that is shown in the broadcast, if this is allowed by the AI Producer Admin.
A Presenter is chosen by the Producer and is included in the broadcast.
A Participant has limited access to features in the Control Room and is able to message Participants and Viewers, and see Viewer Questions. A Participant can be chosen to have the role as an active Presenter during the broadcast.
Branding your broadcast
Brand your broadcast by adding a logo and background. These will be displayed during the broadcast.
A company logo and background can be selected when setting up AI Producer.
They can also be changed during an ongoing broadcast. The company background will be displayed behind the video and shared screen frames during the broadcast. Selected logos and backgrounds can be added by you or your AI producer Administrator (depending on your group settings) and will be shown in the broadcast. For optimal production results, select a logo in PNG format with a transparent background.
The company background picture needs to be in the format of 1920×1080 pixels (16:9). It should not contain too many graphical details. The company logotype is in a dedicated area with a format of 280×80 pixels.
Please notice that logos and backgrounds may be limited by your Administrator to a certain selection of images.
Select Production Tempo
Selecting Production Tempo will determine the speed between each transition from Split-screen, Side-by-side view, and Focus modes during the broadcast.

Slow (for detailed presentations)
The shared screen will mostly be in focus. Suitable when details of the shared screen are most important.
Medium (fits most productions)
Even balance between speakers and shared screen. Suitable for most events.
Fast (perfect for high energy events)
Transitions will occur more frequently. Suitable for higher energy events.
Select Broadcast Destination
The Broadcast Destination is where the viewers will watch the broadcast. Click the ‘Yammer’ button and keep the AI Producer window open; you will return to this shortly.
Broadcast destination determines where your broadcast shall be viewed by your audience. Select a preset option or an external destination of your choice
Save your broadcast to OneDrive
To save a copy of the broadcast, be sure to also select ‘Save to OneDrive’. The broadcast will be saved as an .mp4 file to the user’s OneDrive, within the folder titled ‘AI Producer’. From there you can use, edit and share it as you like.
Broadcast to another Teams Meeting and Webinar
When selecting Another Teams Meeting as a destination, your audience will join a separate Teams meeting to view the broadcast. Create a separate meeting in Teams, copy the ‘Join Meeting’ URL and paste it in the Broadcast Destination settings.
AI Producer test
Sends your broadcast to a YouTube channel administrated by LiveArena Technologies. This destination is intended for testing purposes only. The broadcast is per default set to ‘Unlisted’, meaning it is not viewable by anyone without its designated link. The designated link will be automatically sent to you by email. If you wish to do a broadcast with your own restrictions, we recommend using a destination administrated by your own organization and selecting ‘External’ as a destination in these settings.
If your organization has enabled YouTube as a Broadcast Destination, you are able to broadcast directly to your organization’s preconfigured YouTube channel.
Broadcasting to another destination means that you can transfer your broadcast to an external platform, such as Teams Live Event or Yammer.
When selecting another destination, it is important to schedule the broadcast on the external platform for the same time as the production meeting. A second process to broadcast live may need to be selected on the external destination.
Broadcasting to an external destination is done by setting up a Live Event on the destination to obtain the RTMP link required in AI Producer Settings when selecting External as a destination. Ensure the scheduled event time on the external destination matches the AI Producer meeting in Teams.
Teams Live Event
When you select Teams Live Event as the destination, an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to set up an event when using AI Producer. First, complete setting up AI Producer before creating a Teams Live Event. Then, configure a Teams Live Event using the instructions in the email.
When selecting Yammer as your broadcast destination, it is crucial that the broadcast on Yammer and the production meeting with AI Producer are scheduled to take place simultaneously.
You also need to start the broadcast on Yammer/Microsoft Stream to transfer your AI Producer broadcast to your audience on the selected Yammer destination.
Create a Yammer Live Event
In a web browser, go to https://web.microsoftstream.com and log in to your account. From the menu, click ‘Create’ followed by ‘Live event’ to set up the broadcast connection to Yammer.
Setup the Yammer event
Select a title and description of the event, and ensure the Start and Stop times match the AI Producer meeting. Once complete, select ‘Publish.’
Copy Service Ingest URL
Under ‘Encoder setup,’ turn ‘Secure Connection (SSL)’ Off. ‘Copy’ the ‘Service ingest URL’ (RTMP); this will be used when setting up AI Producer.
Copy Stream URL
The broadcast will be posted in Yammer prior to the start. To enable this, copy the Stream URL. This will be used when setting up AI Producer.
The Stream URL are the numbers and letters that follow AFTER the equal sign (=). After the RTMP and Stream URL is obtained, proceed with setting up an AI Producer meeting, unless you have done this already.
Paste Stream ID and RTMP into AI Producer
Return to AI Producer and paste the Server ingest URL and Microsoft Stream ID you obtained into the correlating rows.
When this is done, proceed with the remaining steps to complete setting up AI Producer.
Check your settings and save
Review your settings, and select ‘OK’ to save.
You have completed the settings
You have now successfully added AI Producer to a meeting in Teams and can close the meeting window. If your meeting starts shortly, click ‘Join.’
Join the meeting
To start a broadcast with AI Producer, join the meeting from your Teams Calendar, prior to the scheduled start time.
Choose your video and audio options
Ensure that your camera and microphone are enabled.
Share your content
To share content, first, click the ‘Share content’ button.
Make sure that the content you are about to share in the meeting is ready, for instance, a PowerPoint presentation.
Screen or Window can be shared. PowerPoint Live is currently not supported.
Select AI Producer
The AI Producer tab is previously set up and selectable. Select it to enter the Control Room.
Go live on Yammer
Click ‘Start event’ to publish the live-stream on Yammer.
Start the Broadcast
Shortly before the scheduled start time, AI Producer will be ready to start producing, and the ‘Start Broadcast’ button will become active.
When you are ready to go live, click ‘Start Broadcast.’
You are live and broadcasting
The broadcast status will change to ‘Status: Live.’
When you want to stop broadcasting, click ‘Stop Broadcast’ in the AI Producer Control Room, and end the event on the broadcast destination.
After the Broadcast
The broadcast has now ended, and all attendees may leave the Teams meeting. View the production on the chosen Broadcast Destination.
